Colombia on Alert for Possible Air Attack by FARC
Colombia is on high alert for Army Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)'s menace to attack airships of military bases or the headquarters of Colombian government in Bogota, the Air Force of Colombia (FAC) said on Saturday.

The intelligence authorities have detected FARC's plans to throw explosives through the air against strategic targets of the Colombian capital, said the Commander of the 13rd FAC brigade, Gen.Reybaldo Castellanos, in a statement.
Castellanos disclosed that there was report that rebel groups, especially the FARC, possessed more than a dozen of helicopters and light aircrafts.
Director of Civil Aeronautic, Juan Carlos Velez, said that his institution had begun an operation of vigilance and aerial controlin Bogota, and would be in an all-around coordination with the FAC.
A plane of rebels, flied over the airspace of Bogota twice without fly plan or permission, was shot down by the Air Force last Friday.
