Chinese skipper Ma Mingyu Friday foresaw a tough match against four-time World Cup champions Brazil on Saturday.

"It is a regret that we lost the first match. Our second match is with Brazil tomorrow." said the 30-year-old midfielder.

"We don't have much time to prepare for it. We know it will be a difficult match but participating in the World Cup itself means playing with difficult teams so we are preparing ourselves mentally."

China, making their World Cup debut after 44-year long wait, was beaten 2-0 by Costa Rica in their opening Group C game on Tuesday.

Ma, who had a unsuccessful season with Italian first division side Perugia in 2000, said a defensive-oriented strategy would be employed Saturday.

"We will not be defending against any one particular player but against all players. We will focus 100 percent of our efforts on all players." he said.

The Chinese team will play Brazil in Seogwipo on June 8 and then Turkey in Seoul on June 13.
