Third Son of Kim Dae-jung Indicted
South korean Seoul District Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday it had indicted, with detention, President Kim Dae-jung's third son Kim Hong-gul on corruption charges. A prosecution official said Kim had received W3.67 billion, of which W1.614 was considered to be bribes.

A prosecution official said Kim had received W3.67 billion, of which W1.614 was considered to be bribes. He continued that Kim had evaded paying W224.74 million in gift tax on W949 million he hid in an account under someone else's name.
The prosecution is also going to indict POSCO Chairman Yoo Sang-bu with embezzlement for forcing six subsidiaries of the firm to buy 200,000 shares in Tiger Pools Korea at W35,000 each, far above the face value of W20,000. The official said jailed businessman Choi Kyu-sun asked Yoo to do this.
In addition former deputy mayor of Seoul Kim Hee-wan is to be indicted for receiving 23,000 TPK shares and 34,800 shares in its subsidiaries, in exchange for ensuring the company received a nationwide lottery license.
