China Textile Trade Show Opens in New York
The Third China Textile & Apparel Trade Show opened Wednesday with nearly 200 enterprises from across the most populous country in the world. This show provides American buyers with a unique opportunity to meet their counterparts from China for the first time.
"This show provides American buyers with a unique opportunity to meet their counterparts from China for the first time since the trade relationship between the two countries attained this historic standing," said Zhang Yankai, vice chairman of CCPIT TEX.
In the three-day event, manufacturers will display items including women's, men's and children's wear, garment fabrics, fashion accessories, home textiles and cotton yarns.
"The demand in the United States for Chinese textiles, apparel and home furnishings continues to be on the rise," said Richard Gould of Specialty Trade Show. "Goods produced in China offer ever-increasing value by combining cutting-edge technology with superior workmanship."
The U.S is the second largest import market for Chinese textile products. In 2001, Sino-U.S. textile and apparel trade reached 6.3 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for nearly one tenth of China's total textile imports and exports.
