Chinese, Albanian Leaders Meet on Relations
Visiting senior Chinese lawmaker, Tomur Dawamat, discussed with Albanian president Rexhep Meidani and other Albanian leaders bilateral relations, cooperation and the Taiwan issue, Monday in Tirana.
Visiting senior Chinese lawmaker, Tomur Dawamat, discussed with Albanian president Rexhep Meidani and other Albanian leaders bilateral relations, cooperation and the Taiwan issue, Monday in Tirana.
Tomur Dawamat, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress of China, met respectively with Albanian President Rexhep Meidani, President of the People's Assembly of Albania Servet Pellumbi and Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko.
In these talks, Tomur Dawamat said China and Albania have kept friendly relations.
Tomur Dawamat stressed that since the establishment of diplomatic ties fifty years ago, the two countries and the world have experienced huge changes. However, the traditional friendshipbetween the two peoples had not changed. The Chinese people valuedthe friendship between the two nations.
He expressed his belief that in the new century, China is willing to further strengthen and develop friendly cooperation with Albania on the basis of mutual respect and seeking common grounds while reserving differences, and mutual benefits.
The Albanian leaders said that Albania will firmly support the one-China policy and will not develop official relations with Taiwan.
President Meidani expressed the hope that the two sides developcooperation in fields such as politics, economics, culture, education and sports. Chinese entrepreneurs were welcomed to Albania to invest, he said.
