Sweden have kept a 34-year-long unbeaten record against England by rallying to a 1-1 draw in World Cup Group F on Sunday.

Midfielder Niclas Alexandersson annulled Sol Campbell's first-half goal for England, which have not beaten Sweden in their last 10 encounters.

The draw allowed Argentina to take firm control of the "Group of Death" after their hard-fought 1-0 victory earlier Sunday over Nigeria. England take on Argentina on June 7 with Sweden playing Nigeria the same day.

Alexandersson's equalizer came on a 20-meter drive and was set up by an error from England defender Danny Mills. Mills chested aball down near the goal mouth and then played it away blindly on to the foot of Alesandersson.

English defender Campbell, who had not scored in 46 previous internationals, opened the account as he headed David Beckham's pinpoint 24th-minute corner into the net.

Sweden was missing experienced central defender Patrik Andersson, who injured his left thigh in training on the eve of the game.
