30% Chinese Believe Their Team to Advance into 16

A survey poll announced on May 30 shows that about 30 percent of Chinese are confident that Chinese football team can reach the round of 16. Respondents regard Brazil, France and Argentina as potential champions.

Chinese Fans Eager for World Cup
A survey poll announced on May 30 shows that about 30 percent of Chinese are confident that Chinese football team can reach the round of 16. Respondents regard Brazil, France and Argentina as potential champions.

The survey was conducted by ACNielsen, the company interviewed more than 1000 respondents in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The survey shows that 30 percent of respondents believe that Chinese football team can enter the second round. They are very positive about the team, but majority of respondents said that Chinese team has a gap with other teams, 57 percent of respondents predict that China will wind up in the first round.

The survey also shows that Brazil is deemed as the most potential champion in fans' eyes, which gets 37 percent of supports, much higher than France's 26 percent. The third one is Argentina, which gets 16 percent of supports.


China Team Under Training
Some 82 percent of people say they will watch the world cup from beginning to the end. What is interesting is that the match gets 66 percent of non-fans' attraction.

In addition, when asked by which way they are going to get the news about the world cup, most of Chinese say they watch TV while newspapers come the second followed with the sports newspapers or magazines. Furthermore, one fourth of respondents say they access to the world cup news on Internet.
