A month-long military training for senior Iraqi officials concluded on Tuesday after a target practice, the state-run Iraq TV reported.
Senior Iraqi officials, including Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz, were seen firing pistols and machine guns at an undisclosed target range.
The officials also practiced how to sprawl forward with machine guns in hands, the report said.
Iraq TV reported on Monday that senior Iraqi officials learned how to disassemble and assemble light weapons such as machine guns.
During the one-month period, senior officials spent one to three hours every day familiarizing the use of light weapons and combat techniques as well as learning military theories.
The military training was in accordance with the directives of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and arranged by the Iraqi Defense Ministry to confront any possible attacks by the United States.
U.S. President George W. Bush has branded Iraq as part of an " axis of evil" and strongly warned that Iraq may become the next target of the U.S.-led war on terror.
