Chinese Premier Meets Japanese Guests
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Tuesday with a Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprises delegation headed by Hatakeyama Noboru, director general of Japan External Trade Organization (JETO).
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Tuesday with a Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprises delegation headed by Hatakeyama Noboru, director general of Japan External Trade Organization (JETO).
The delegation consists of representatives from some 60 small- and medium-sized manufacturers in Japan. They are in China to inspect the investment environment here.
Zhu said this year marks the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. He expressed the hope that the two sides will jointly create a favorable political environment for the promotion of the long-term,stable and healthy development of friendship and trade links between the two countries. He said this is in the common interest of both countries, and conducive to economic development in Asia and the world.
Zhu said China has already become a full member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and entered a new stage of opening to the outside world. The implementation of the strategy of developing the western areas of China will provide many opportunities for foreign enterprises to enter China market. It also opened up broad areas for China and Japan to deepen bilateraltrade and economic cooperation.
Hatakeyama Noboru said more and more Japanese small- and medium-sized companies want to come to China after its accession to the WTO. He said the visit of his delegation will help promote exchanges between the business circles of both countries.
