All 33 relatives of the nine mainland victims of the China Airlines Flight CI611 crash have arrived in Taiwan, according to news from Taiwan Tuesday.
It was reported that officials of the Strait Exchange Foundation (SEF) said the SEF will coordinate with related authorities to provide the mainlanders whatever assistance is needed.
Accompanied by SEF officials, 18 mainland victims' relatives flew to Penghu Tuesday to identify the remains at the Makung Air Base.
SEF officials also said the mainland sent rescue ships to join the search after being asked to do so and that mainland fishing boats in the area pitched in as well.
A mainland ship located a male body Monday and turned it over to Taiwan authorities. Another mainland ship helped recover plane wreckage Monday afternoon.
So far, 85 bodies have been recovered, with 65 identified.
