Brazilian striker Ronaldo is brimming with confidence that his team will make it to the final of the 2002 World Cup.
"I feel good about this year's tournament. I believe we could easily go to the final," Ronaldo told a press conference at the team's tranining camp in Ulsan.
The four-time champions are preparing for their first group match against Turkey after arriving in South Korea Sunday afternoon.
"Although this year's World Cup is my third following ones in the United States and France, my heart is still beating ahead of the opening match," Ronaldo said.
Saying he has fully recovered from earlier injuries, the two-time World Player of the Year pledged to be at his best during the team's World Cup opener.
"The 2002 World Cup will become a turning point in my soccer life," Ronaldo said, vowing to make up for his failure to help Brazil win the 1998 World Cup in France.
In Group C, the Brazilian team also face China on June 8 and Costa Rice on June 13.
