Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met Monday with British former Prime Minister Edward Heath.

During the meeting, Li said, 30 years ago when Heath was then British prime minister, Britain established diplomatic relations with China at the ambassadorial level.

In the past 30 years, Li added, no matter how the situations changed, Heath has done his utmost to push forward Sino-British ties and won praises for his special contributions. Li hoped the bilateral ties will continue to develop steadily.
