FIFA Admits to Problems in Ticket Sales

FIFA admitted Saturday that the WorldCup ticket sales have met some problems but expressed full confidence that the ticketing work will go on smoothly.

PRINT DISCUSSION CHINESE SEND TO FRIEND

FIFA admitted Saturday that the WorldCup ticket sales have met some problems but expressed full confidence that the ticketing work will go on smoothly.

"It would be stupid to pretend that we have not had problems," president of FIFA Subcommittee for Ticketing David Will told a press conference Saturday afternoon.

"We were late in printing and late in delivering."

However, Will stressed that no one should be to blame as the problems were incurred by the delayed finalization of seating for the 20 new World Cup stadiums.

"It's not anybody's fault. Not FIFA's, not the two hosting countries'," he said.

Will added that the World Cup games in Japan is almost a sell-out while South Korea has only sold 80 percent of its tickets.

"But we're very very confident that the 20 percent will disappear rapidly when they go on the market." said the Scotsman.
