Asia's largest football-only stadium will be shrouded in 9,000 butterflies on Friday as part of festivities leading up to the May 31 kick-off of the World Cup soccer finals in Seoul.
Co-hosts South Korea have built the stadium and a park roughly the size of New York's Central Park on a former dump as part of an environmental drive.
Hundreds of kindergarten children will gather at the stadium to release yellow butterflies, swallowtails and cabbage butterflies.
Defending champions France will play against Senegal at the stadium to kick off the month-long World Cup finals.
