Clinton Reaps US$250,000 in 30-Minute Speech in Shenzhen

Invited by the US-based BusinessWeek and Shenzhen Jingji Real Estate Company, former US president Bill Clinton showed up in Shenzhen on May 23 to deliver a speech entitled "WTO and China's Economy", which earned him a sum of 250,000 US dollars.

For Clinton's arrival, the Crowne Plaza Shenzhen was heavily guarded, with guards standing even hundred meters away.

Most heavyweights in Shenzhen's business circle gathered here to listen to Clinton's "enlightening remarks".

Clinton still looked smart in his deep-color suits. Throughout the 30 minutes, he expanded his view on the World Trade Organization and China's economic development and also answered questions on world situation and Middle East issues.

This is Clinton's first tour to Chinese mainland since he stepped down from presidential post. Before this, he was talking at the Fortune Forum in Hong Kong on May 8, last year which, as reported, brought him over 100,000 US dollars.

This newly-netted 250,000 dollars in 30 minutes showed again his knack of making money.
