China-Portugal World Cup Warm-up Eye-Catching

The China-Portugal WorldCup warm-up game kicking off here on Saturday has not only aroused the soccer fever on the island, but also drawn close attention of several other qualifiers for this summer's premier soccer tournament.

The China-Portugal WorldCup warm-up game kicking off here on Saturday has not only aroused the soccer fever on the island, but also drawn close attention of several other qualifiers for this summer's premier soccer tournament.

Local reports said Thursday that Brazil, Turkey, South Korea and the United States have already contacted Macao's sports development authorities, saying that they plan to send their head coaches and other persons concerned to watch the game at the stadium.

Macao's authorities have extended their welcome to the special guests and made some arrangements.

Analysts here said that the visiting head coaches will not only come to see the form of the Chinese and Portuguese players and their tactics in the pitch, but also take the chance to directly contacted the coaches of the two teams.

Brazil and Turkey have been drawn in Group C of the Korea-Japan 2002 World Cup finals, along side China and Costa Rica, while SouthKorea, the United States, Portugal and Poland are in Group D.
