World Cup champ France beat J-League first-division side Urawa Reds 5-1 on Wednesday in a friendly match at their training base in Japan, while Nigeria drew2-2 with J-League side Yokohama F Marinos.

An under-strength French side, with defender Lilian Thuram and striker Thierry Henry sidelined with injuries, still put five goals passed Urawa, three of them from Youri Djorkaeff.

Late arrival Zinedine Zidane also missed the game, having stayed in France for the birth of his third child.

In Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Nigeria left several of their regulars on the bench, including Austin "Jay Jay" Okocha.

Nigeria allowed the J-League side to take the lead, but then scored twice through striker Bartholomew Ogbeche before allowing Yokohama back into the game.
