China's Eldest Panda Changchang Dies

China's eldest panda Changchang closed eyes forever in Jinan Zoo at 21: 27 May 21 at the age of 35. Changchang was diagnosed pneumonia, senile liver disease, and organic exhaustion. Experts say that Changchang's illness is caused by the weakness of internal organs due to agedness.

China's eldest panda Changchang closed eyes forever in Jinan Zoo at 21: 27 May 21 at the age of 35.

Changchang inhabited Baishuijiang Nature Reserve in Gansu Province, the male panda weighed at 114 kg when died, he began to fall into serious ill yesterday afternoon, unusual symptom suddenly appeared at 9 pm, then he left the world after emergency rescue by doctors.

According to staffs in the zoo, besides 3 steamed breads and 3 kg of milk per day, he can also eat 15 kg of bamboo leaves. In the morning of May 8, Changchang refused to eat and became lazy.

Jinan Zoo asked Jinan Military Hospital for help after he was so sick, Changchang was diagnosed pneumonia, senile liver disease, and organic exhaustion. Experts say that Changchang's illness is caused by the weakness of internal organs due to agedness, it is normal.

The average life expectancy of panda is 30 years, Changchang is so far China's eldest panda, 35 is equal to 75-85 years old of human being.

Changchang was a starved and sick panda rescued by the Baishuijiang Nature Reserve from the wild in 1985 . He "settled down" in Jinan Zoo in 1995.
