Ethiopia to Continue to Implement Peace Accord With Eritrea

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi Tuesday expressed his country's determination to implement the peace agreement signed with Eritrea in Algiers, Algeria in December 2000.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi Tuesday expressed his country's determination to implement the peace agreement signed with Eritrea in Algiers, Algeria in December 2000.

Ethiopia would exert utmost efforts to fully implement the peace agreement, Meles said during talks with Rino Seri, the European Union envoy of the Ethio-Eritrea affairs.

The prime minister said his country has accepted the decision of the Ethio-Eritrea boundary commission based in The Hague, adding that measures have been taken to facilitate ways for the realization of the commission's ruling.

Seri said the European Union commended Ethiopia for accepting the decision of the boundary commission.

During their talks, Meles and Seri also exchanged views on the situation after the decision of the boundary commission.
