APEC Ministerial Meeting on Telecommunications in Shanghai
The Fifth Ministerial Meeting on Telecommunications and Information Industries (Telmin5), of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, is to be held in east China's Shanghai from May 27 to 30.

The Ministry of Information Industry (MII) said Tuesday that ministers of telecommunications and information industries or delegates, academics and business leaders would discuss the theme,"Leveraging digital opportunities to promote common development".
China would send a 50-member delegation headed by Wu Jichuan, Minister of the Information Industry.
The five-day meeting is in two parts: Senior Officials Meeting from May 27 to 28 and the Ministerial meeting from May 29 to 3O.
The participants are expected to discuss such topics as transforming the digital divide into digital opportunities, infrastructure construction, telecom policy and market regulation,and information and network security.
The meeting will produce two outcome documents, namely, the Shanghai Declaration and the Program of Action.
