China to Improve Education in Rural Areas
The General Office of the State Council, China's cabinet, on Thursday published a circular urging authorities at various levels to improve education in the country's rural area.

The circular stressed the significance of improving the quality of leadership and the administrative systems to closely monitor compulsory education in the countryside. For this, governments at all levels should map out clearly assigned tasks and put them on specific persons to carry them out, the circular stated.
Sufficient finance to meet the needs of compulsory education in country areas should be guaranteed, according to the circular.
Personnel administrative system should be improved so that the number of teaching staff in rural primary and middle schools can rise and meet the teaching work.
The circular also emphasized that it is imperative to build a sound supervisory system to ensure compulsory education in rural areas progress continuously and steadily.
