Reception Marks 10th Anniversary of China-Croatia Diplomatic Ties

A reception was held in Beijing Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia.

A reception was held in Beijing Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia.

Visiting Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and his wife were present.

Jiang Zhenghua, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, said at the reception that during the past 10 years there have been frequent exchanges of top- level visits, increasing understanding and trust and expanding cooperation in various spheres between the two nations.

The two countries have worked closely and supported each other in international organizations like the United Nations (UN), Jiang added.

The Chinese people are ready to work together with the Croatian people to further promote the China-Croatia ties, he said.

Mesic said he believes that the two nations' friendly ties will continue to develop.

The event was organized jointly by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Croatian Embassy to China.
