Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Wednesday with a delegation from the Lions Clubs International ( LCI) led by its President Frank Moore.

Zhu said he appreciated the worldwide benevolent services provided by the organization, especially the "Sight First China Action," a five-year project to remove cataracts from people in China.

The Chinese government will continue to support the project and encourage Guangdong and Shenzhen lions clubs to make contribution to the LCI's worldwide services, he said.

Moore said his organization invites the members of the lions clubs in China to join the LCI and will work for greater achievements in the second phase of the Sight First China Action.
