Former US President Carter Says Cuba Not Involved in Bio-Terrorism
Former US President James Carter said Monday in Havana that Cuba is not involved in bio-terrorism and it "has an impressive and wonderful compromise with scientific development."

Accompanied by Cuban President Fidel Castro, Carter, who arrived on Sunday for a private visit, made the statement after visiting the facilities of the Genetic Engineering and Bio-Technology Center, reports here said.
US Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton said last week that Cuba is trying to develop biological weapons and might be transferring the expertise to countries hostile to the United States.
Carter, the most important US politician to visit the countryin more than four decades, said State Department and intelligence officials briefing him for his trip to Cuba admitted that they had no evidence that Cuba was transferring abroad biological weapons technology.
