Croatian President Begins Visit to China

Croatian President Stjepan Mesic arrived in Shanghai on Monday to begin his first visit to China. Mesic said he hoped to strengthen economic and trade ties between Croatia and Shanghai.

Croatian President Stjepan Mesic arrived in Shanghai on Monday to begin his first visit to China.

During a Monday evening meeting with Mesic and his party, Shanghai Mayor Chen Liangyu briefed the guests on his city's economic and social development over the past decade.

Mesic said he hoped to strengthen economic and trade ties between Croatia and Shanghai.

His five-day visit will also include Beijing and Xi'an, the capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi province.
