Senior Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said on May 6 in Gaza that the report which Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is going to show U.S. President George W. Bush that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is involved in attacks on Israel is "vague."
"This report that Sharon is talking about is vague and full of lies," Erekat told reporters. "The facts that must be shown to the Americans are the pictures of the torn bodies of Palestinians, especially children killed by the Israeli tanks shells."
He said that those pictures of Palestinian victims are "of Sharon's terrorism," adding that "those pictures are the reality and not Sharon's documents which are far from reality."
Sharon, who is now in the United States for a four-day visit, isscheduled to meet with Bush on Tuesday in the White House. He is expected to present the U.S. president with a 100-page report to show that Arafat is directly involved in financing and encouraging Palestinian militants to carry out attacks in Israel.
