Editorial Calls for Youths to Follow the CPC

The People's Daily carries an editorial on its Saturday issue calling all the young people in the country to unswervingly follow the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The People's Daily carries an editorial on its Saturday issue calling all the young people in the country to unswervingly follow the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The editorial, published on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China(CYLC), extended greetings to all members of the league. It says that the May 4th Movement in 1919 was a great patriotic movement with far-reaching influence, which led to the spreading of Marxismin China and the birth of the CPC.

It says that over the past 80 years, the CYLC has been increasingly stronger and has contributed greatly to China's revolution, construction and reforms, for which a fundamental experience is that the league works under the call of the CPC.

The editorial stresses that the world is in a century full of opportunities and challenges, young people bear the hard task of building the motherland into a rich, democratic and civilized socialist modern country.

It says that young people are the future of the country, the hope of the nation. The whole party and the whole society should warmly care for the healthy growth of the young generation.
