Bangladesh Ferry Sinking Drowns Hundreds

A passenger ferry carrying 400 sank in southern Bangladesh and most of them are feared dead, according tolocal media Saturday.

A passenger ferry carrying 400 sank in southern Bangladesh and most of them are feared dead, according tolocal media Saturday.

This tragedy happened late on Friday in the southern coastal district of Chandpur and only some ten passengers had struggled tosurvive.

The ferry was sailing from Dhaka to Patuakhali when struck by astorm in Chandpur.

A rescue operation was under way.
