China's Vice-President Hu Jintao left San Francisco Friday afternoon at the conclusion of his week-long official visit to the United States.
Hu and his delegation were seen off at the San Francisco International Airport by US officials from the State Department and San Francisco city, as well as the Chinese ambassador to the United States, Yang Jiechi.
In the morning, Hu paid a visit to the US largest chip-maker,Intel Corporation, in Silicon Valley, northern California. Intel'stop executives briefed him on the company's development and showedhim its newest high-tech achievements.
Hu told the Intel executives he believes that technology will continue to have tremendous and extensive impact on every aspect of human life.
Reiterating China's policy on introducing advanced technologiesand management expertise in order to boost its technological progress, Hu said China is willing to strengthen future cooperation and exchanges with Intel.
Hu Jintao also attended a grand luncheon hosted in his honor bythe local Chinese community. Recalling the history of Chinese immigrants who came to the United States as early as the Gold Rush,Hu praised the Chinese community for always playing an important role in bridging the Chinese and American peoples.
"We hope you will continue to work for the promotion of friendly ties between our two nations," he told his hosts.
