Turkish national football team coach Senol Gunes, while keeping a watchful eye on Turkey' s opening round World Cup group opponents, on Saturday saw the China-South Korea warmup in South Korean city of Inchun.

Gunes indicated that China fought out a dull goalless draw with South Korea, reported Turkish Daily News on Monday.

"The Chinese looked a bit hesitant," Gunes commented. "But everything will be different in the finals. We will be on our guard."

Turkey's other opening round opponents are Costa Rica and Brazil.

Brazil, which has never missed a World Cup finals, will be fighting for its fifth title while Turkey will try to reach the second round.

Turkish midfielder Ergun Penbe was reported Sunday to have said that Turkey will try to pool off a major upset at the World finals by beating four-time champion Brazil.

"Brazil is not a team which can't be beaten," Penbe said. "it is not the same Brazil anymore, anyway."

"We're capable of beating them. Why can't we?" he said.

Penbe said, "I believe, we will advance to the second round, if we make a good start in first match with Brazil on June 3." "We have the power to do that. And after 48 years, we really want it," he added.

Gunes, who has so far not announced the full name-list of his World Cup squad, will lead his players to have warmups with South Africa and Scotland in a tournament in Hong Kong.
