Fixed, Mobile Telephone Users in China Hit 350 Million

China saw rapid growth of users for both fixed and mobile telephone in the first quarter, and the total number had reached 350 million, according to latest statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry.

Statistics show in the first quarter China's fixed line users grew 9.61 million to reach 188.65 million, and the mobile users increased 16.68 million to hit a total of 161.5 million.

The number of mobile users climbed much higher over that of last year. Every month of the first quarter saw new users exceeding 5 million, especially February, in which the figure reached 5.94 million, a historical record. If the growth speed maintained, it is not long that China claims 200 million mobile users.
