About 100 experts from five countries Friday attended the First International Forum on Post-Genome Technology in this ancient former Chinese capital.
The forum covers such issues as bio-chip technology and its application, gene classification, gene mapping and biological informatics, and gene therapy.
The post-genome program has been proposed as a further step by scientists in the study of the functions of genes after the completion of the Human Genome Project last year.
The Human Genome Project was launched by six countries to decode the secret of human life, and the sequencing of functional genes.
