Nepali King Vows to Maintain Good Ties With China
Nepali King Gyanendra said Friday that Nepal will always maintain good relations with China and will not allow anyone to conduct any anti-China activities in Nepal.
Nepali King Gyanendra said Friday that Nepal will always maintain good relations with China and will not allow anyone to conduct any anti-China activities in Nepal.
"Nepal and China are close neighbors and have a long friendship history. So, I will not allow any anti-China activities to be conducted within Nepalese territory," said the king while meeting with a delegation from the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
The delegation led by Lekchok, chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region, has arrived here last Saturday for a goodwill visit from April 13 to 20 at the invitation of the Nepali government.
Gyanendra also expressed his confidence that the friendship between China and Nepal will be further strengthened by the development of cultural and trade relations.
The King noted that Nepal will always support the one-China policy, adding that he hoped that the friendly relations between Nepal and China will be further strengthened in the future.
In reply, Lekchok expressed his appreciation for Nepal's support to one-China policy and its commitment not to allow anti- China activities in the country.
"As China and Nepal share a lot of common interests, the two countries have great potentials for cooperation in trade, culture and joint ventures," Lekchok said, adding that "such cooperation is for the benefit of the peoples of our two countries."
He said china is willing to develop cooperation in all fields with Nepal.
