China considers inaccurate remarks in a recent European Parliament (EP) resolution unacceptable and urges the EP to work positively for Sino-Europe relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said Friday.

The EP recently passed a resolution titled "European Parliament on an EU Strategy towards China".

Zhang said that China has noted the resolution, which says that China and Europe share extensive common interests. It also advocates developing the Sino-European partnership, strengthening bilateral communication, exchanges and dialogue, and expanding bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, science and technology, and education and culture. "China welcomes all these positive ideas," Zhang said.

On a range of issues such as Taiwan, Tibet and human rights, however, the resolution makes inaccurate conclusions which are not based on facts, she said, adding that such a move has seriously interfered in China's internal affairs.

Zhang urged the EP to closely observe the One-China principle and promote bilateral relations to avoid harming the Sino-European relationship.
