Chinese Sports Minister Arrives in Cuba
The Chinese Olympic Committee president Yuan Weimin Wednesday arrived in Cuba for an official visit aimed at signing a bilateral cooperation agreement on sports.
The Chinese Olympic Committee president Yuan Weimin Wednesday arrived in Cuba for an official visit aimed at signing a bilateral cooperation agreement on sports.
Yuan arrived in Havana after visiting Brazil, heading a Chinese sports delegation, and was welcomed by the president of the Cuban Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Institute (INDER), Humberto Rodriguez.
During his stay here, Yuan Weimin, who also is the president o the Organizing Committee of the Beijing2008 Olympic Games, will hold talks with the vice president of the Council of Ministrs and head of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Jose Ramon Fernandez.
Also, as part of the work agenda in effect until April 20, the Chinese official will meet with Vice President Carlos Lage, and the leader of INDER and Mayor of Havana, Conrado Martinez.
The Chinese minister and his delegation will visit the facilities of the International Physical Education and Sports School and the Anti-Doping Control Laboratory - both at this capital - as well as Cienfuegos and Villa Clara provinces, in central Cuba.
