Male Nurse Kills Two Employees and Himself at L.A. Clinic

A male nurse shot three women, killing two of them --including a doctor-- at a medical clinic Monday before turning the gun on himself to commit suicide, authorities said.

A male nurse shot three women, killing two of them -- including a doctor-- at a medical clinic Monday before turning the gun on himself to commit suicide, authorities said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, opened fire at the Superior Medical Clinic at about 1:30 p.m. local time in the blue collar Los Angeles suburb of Commerce in an apparent murder-suicide, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman said.

The spokesman said two employees of the medical center, both women, were dead at the scene along with the gunman and that a third woman had been taken by ambulance to a local hospital with wounds that would likely prove fatal.

"She's been rushed to a local hospital, however she's listed as 'death imminent,'" the spokesman said.
