Deaths Surge to 126 in Chinese Passenger Plane Crash
The death toll from the Chinese passenger airliner crash on Monday near the South Korean city of Kimhae has risen to 126 with two still missing. The number of survivors remains 38.
The death toll from the Chinese passenger airliner crash on Monday (April 15) near the South Korean city of Kimhae has risen to 126 with two passengers still missing, Beijing-based China Daily quoted official sources as saying. But the number of survivors remains 38.
According to earlier reports from Yonhap news agency, 54 survivors were found in rescue operations Monday, but some reportedly died on the way to hospital, or inside the hospital. By midnight Monday (April 15), the number of survivors dropped to 38.
Local reports indicated that there aboard the Air China Boeing 767 airliner were 11 crew members and 155 passengers, including 135 Koreans, 19 Chinese and one Uzbek.
Over 2,900 rescue workers of Kimhae city Wednesday continued their search for the three missing with little progress due to bad weather and muddy and slippery mountain roads.
The Boeing 767 carrier was flying to Pusan from Beijing. It crashed near the South Korean city of Kimhae Monday.

around 11:40 am (0240 GMT) near Kimhae airport, which serves the port city of Busan while on a
flight between Beijing and the city of Busan.

passenger plane crashed into a hill near an apartment building adjacent to the Busan airport at
10:40 (Beijing time), where the weather was foggy with a very low degree of visibility.
