Sino-U.S. Communique's 30th Anniversary Marked in Beijing
China's Vice-Premier Li Lanqing and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger attended a ceremony here Saturday evening marking the 30th anniversary of former U.S. President Richard Nixon's visit to China and the release of the Shanghai Communique.
China's Vice-Premier Li Lanqing and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger attended a ceremony here Saturday evening marking the 30th anniversary of former U.S. President Richard Nixon's visit to China and the release of the Shanghai Communique.
Li welcomed Kissinger to China on the occasion of the anniversary. He also thanked Kissinger for his contributions to the development of Sino-U.S. relations over the years.
Kissinger said that he would take the opportunity of his current trip to China to learn more about the country. He expressed his willingness to continue to work for the development of bilateral relations.
Li and Kissinger reviewed the course of Sino-U.S. relations, and expressed their mutual wish for the continuation of wholesome bilateral relations.
The ceremony was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
