Chinese Premier Meets Vietnam Deputy PM

Chinese Premiere Zhu Rongji met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam Saturday morning at Boao Forum for Asia.

Chinese Premiere Zhu Rongji met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam Saturday morning at Boao Forum for Asia.

Zhu welcomed Nguyen Manh Cam for his second visit to Hainan and his attendance to the first annual meeting of the forum.

He said the relations between China and Vietnam have seen smooth growth under the guidance of the principles of friendship and cooperation reached by President Jiang and General Secretary Nong Duc Manh of the Communist Party of Vietnam. President Jiang's visit to Vietnam earlier this year has made a great success, and the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields have been stepped up.

He said China is willing to work together with Vietnam to jointly push forward Sino-Vietnamese ties in the 21st century.

Nguyen said the Vietnamese side believes that the establishment and growth of the Boao Forum for Asia conforms to the development trend of the world. Vietnam will give active support to the development of the forum.

Nguyan said the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government attach great importance to the development of the friendly ties between the two countries and will make further endeavor to broaden the cooperation between the two countries in various fields to achieve more constructive and effective results.

The two sides also exchanged views on a few key joint projects in trade and economy.
