Taiwan "president" Chen Shui-bian preached again his "Taiwan independence" thought on April 11, claiming that "Republic of China" is "a state with independent sovereignty", Taiwan " is neither a province of the mainland, nor a local government of the mainland".
Chen Shui-bian said to a French Senate delegation Thursday that Taiwan is different from Hong Kong and Macao, Taiwan is not suitable for the "one country, two systems", Taiwan is neither Hong Kong and Macao, nor the second Hong Kong and the second Macao. He even said that Taiwan is not a colony, it is "a state with independent sovereignty".
The "One country, two systems" does not have market in Taiwan, he said.
He stressed again that Taiwan authorities will "make more efforts to try to participate in the World Health Organization (WHO)".
He verified on another occasion Thursday that the US side has indeed sent personnel to aid the lately-held "Hankuang No. 18" military maneuver and said that Taiwan has kept a closer military ties with the US side.
