China's State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) Thursday publicized the tariff quota for chemical fertilizer and crude oil in 2002 in line with the country's WTO pledges.
This year's tariff quota for ammonium dibasic phosphate is 5.67 million tons, of which 4.82 million tons will go to state-run enterprises, and 850,000 tons to non-state-run firms.
The tariff quota for compound fertilizer is 2.8 million tons, of which 2.38 million tons will go to state-run enterprises, and 420,000 to non-state-run firms.
The quota for carbamide is 1.3 million tons, of which 1.17 million tons will go to state-run enterprises, and 130,000 to non- state-run firms.
The SETC said the publication of the tariff quota shows China was capable of and earnest in fulfilling its promises to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
However, the SETC also noted that China's home-made fertilizer was in ample supply and imports should be arranged in accordance with market demand.
Meanwhile, the SETC announced that the tariff quota for crude oil going to non-state-run enterprises is 8.28 million tons this year.
