Kim Dae-jung Hospitalized Over Stomach Disorder
Cheong Wa Dae ( South Korean Presidential residence) spokeswoman Park Sun-sook announced Wednesday that President Kim Dae-jung was hospitalized in the Armed Forces Hospital in Seoul due to fatigue from overwork and a stomach disorder from Tuesday night. Park said President Kim is expected to receive treatment for two to three days in the hospital, including a general medical check-up. As a result, cabinet meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, including a report by the Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries have been put on hold, as has an interview with former US ambassador to Seoul Donald Greg, who visited North Korea.

In addition the conferment ceremony assigning Kim Il-sun as head of a Special Committee for the Development of Medicine was canceled.
Spokeswoman Park told a press briefing that Kim was taken to hospital around 8:40pm, following a state dinner with Finnish President Tarja Halonen and was hospitalized after medical staff recommended he receive a medical checkup and treatment. She emphasized the president has yet completely recovered from the previous thigh injury and was hospitalized due to overwork and stomach problem.
Jang Seok-il, the Cheong Wa Dae physician said President Kim's vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure were fine, adding that he will be able to handle his schedule in two to three days time.
