Chinese Football Association Names Dragon Team for 2001 Season

China Football Association named the Dragon Team for the 2001 while Qi Hong and Bai Jie won the men's and women's Best Player Awards here on Tuesday night.

China Football Association named the Dragon Team for the 2001 while Qi Hong and Bai Jie won the men's and women's Best Player Awards here on Tuesday night.

Dragon Team, the highest soccer award in China, is the only official selection by the Chinese Football Association.

Qi Hong of Shanghai, who scored three goals during the World Cup qualifiers last year and played an important role in earning China's first ticket to the quadrennial soccer gala to be co- hosted by Japan and South Korea, was nominated the men's Best Player.

Bai Jie from Beijing who helped the inexperienced national team through the hard time of growing up, took the women's trophy of Best Player.

Shen Xiangfu, head coach of the national men's youth team and assistant coach of the national head coach Bora Milutinovic, won the Best Coach for men's and Ma Liangxing was named the Best Coach for women's soccer team.
