Wei Jianxing Meets Croatian Guests
Wei Jianxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Monday with a Croatian delegation led by Srecko Ferencak, general secretary of the Croatian People's Party.

Wei said that the Chinese and Croatian people had cultivated a traditional friendship.
Since the establishment of the bilateral relations in 1992, China and Croatia had increased their exchanges and contacts, expanded fields of cooperation and developed friendly relations, Wei said.
The CPC attached great importance to promoting friendly ties with various parties in Croatia, he said.
The Croatian People's Party was an important force in the political arena in Croatia, Wei said, adding that the CPC wanted to enhance friendly cooperation with the Croatian People's Party.
Ferencak said that the Croatian People's Party was the first inCroatia to send a delegation to China.
He said that his party greatly cherished friendship with China,which he regarded as an important stabilizer for regional and world peace.
He said that the Croatian people and his party admired the achievements made by the Chinese people in the latest two decades in opening-up and economic construction.
The friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two parties must strengthen further friendship in various fields between the two countries, he said.
