Vice-Premier Calls on Youngsters to Exercise
In an open letter to Chinese children and youth on World Health Day, Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing called on youngsters to actively participate in sports. Li said that children and young people were the target of World Health Day activities in China this year, indicating that the party and government cared a great deal for the nation's youth.

Li, also standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, said that children and young people were the target of World Health Day activities in China this year, indicating that the party and government cared a great deal for the nation's youth.
"I hope you'll actively participate in sports activities, build up your health and cultivate an active and healthy way of life, which will lay a solid foundation for your studies and all-around development," said the vice-premier.
World Health Day falls on April 7.
