Hong Kong Leads Malaysia 2-0 in Davis Cup

Hong Kong of China beat Malaysia2-0 on Friday, the first day play-off between the two teams at Davis Cup tennis tournament of 2002 Asia/Oceania Zone Group II.

Hong Kong of China beat Malaysia2-0 on Friday, the first day play-off between the two teams at Davis Cup tennis tournament of 2002 Asia/Oceania Zone Group II.

Hong Kong's Michael Brown defeated Si Yew Ming of Malaysia 6-3,6-4, 7-5, while another Hong Kong player John Hui beat Hazuan Hizan 6-2, 6-3, 1-6, 7-5.

Both Hong Kong of China and Malaysia hardly afford a defeat, because the winner will remain in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group II next year while the loser will be relegated to the Group III.

Hong Kong's Melvin Tong/Hohn Hui are scheduled to face Adam Jaya/Si Yew Ming of Malaysia on Saturday. Hohn Hui will play against Si Yew Mingon on Sunday, while the last match will be between Michael Brown and Hazuan Hizan.
