China, Turkey Hold 14th Session of Joint Economic, Trade Committee

Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng and visiting Turkish State Minister Tunca Toskay co-hosted Thursday in Beijing the 14th session of the Chinese-Turkish Joint Economic & Trade Committee.

The two sides briefed each other on the recent economic development of their respective countries, reviewed their progress in trade and investment and other spheres since the last session of the joint committee, and exchanged views on other issues of common concern.

Shi expressed the hope that the two countries strengthen their cooperation in multilateral fields apart from bilateral trade and economic ties.

The Turkish minister is here as guest of Shi, leading a delegation consisting of government officials and entrepreneurs. Businessmen from both sides held a seminar on bilateral trade and economy during the guests' stay in Beijing.

They will also visit Shanghai, China's economic hub.
