Jiangsu Enlarges Leading Gap by Beating Liaoning in CVA League

League leader Jiangsu enlarged its lead by beating Liaoning 3-2 on Wednesday at the 12th round of China men's volleyball league at Panjin, Liaoning province of China.

League leader Jiangsu enlarged its lead by beating Liaoning 3-2 on Wednesday at the 12th round of China men's volleyball league at Panjin, Liaoning province of China.

The home side Liaoning started off well and took the lead after won the first set 25-21. Jiangsu kept the game alive when they began to turned things around late in the second set and won 25-23. Jiangsu attempted to keep their winning momentum in the following set but Liaoning again took the advantage by wining the third set 26-24.

It took a great effort from Jiangsu's blocking and serving to equalized when they won the fourth set 26-24.

The fifth set was much easier for the visitors as they outpointed their counterparts 15-12.

After the victory, Jiangsu remained the lead with 14 points and Liaoning, 10 points in hand, was eliminated from the finals.

In other Group D matches on Wednesday, Zhejiang lost to Bayi 3- 1 (25-19, 24-26, 22-25, 22-25), Shandong defeated Shanghai 3-1 (25- 23, 25-23, 16-25, 29-27).

In the Group E, Hubei lost to Sichuan 3-2 (25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 22-25, 14-16), Henan overwhelmed Hebei 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-20), Fujian lost to Chengdu 3-1 (21-25, 19-25, 25-21, 23-25).
