CPPCC Chairman Meets Philippine Guests

Top Chinese leader Li Ruihuan met with a delegation from the Philippines China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification (PCCPPR) Wednesday.

Top Chinese leader Li Ruihuan met with a delegation from the Philippines China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification (PCCPPR) Wednesday.

Li, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said during the meetingthat it is the common wish and historical responsibility of all the Chinese people worldwide to realize the peaceful reunificationof both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

Li also highly praised the work of the PCCPPR since its establishment, and delivered thanks to the Chinese who are now living in the Philippines for their contribution to China's reformand modernization drive.

The PCCPPR delegation, headed by Lucio Tan and Benito Lim You Tiat, came to China at the invitation of the China Council for thePromotion of Peaceful Reunification.

Senior Chinese officials from relevant departments were also present at the meeting.
