Iraq Says Ready to Halt Oil Supply to US
Iraq on Tuesday called for the use of oil as a weapon against Israel and the United States. Iraq was ready to halt oil supply to the United States in response to a call by Iran, said Iraqi Acting Foreign Minister Humam Abdul Khaliq.

Khaliq told the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Iraq expressed its readiness to cut off oil supply to the United States,jointly with Iran and all those who decide to do so "among Muslim oil producers.
Khaliq expressed hope that all Arab oil producers will join the boycott to protest against the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, the INA said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said Tuesday that Iran would consider using oil as a weapon to pressure the United States to force Israel to withdraw its troops from occupied Palestinian areas.
Iraq's ruling Arab Baath Socialist Party on Monday urged fellow Arabs to use oil as a weapon against Israel and the U.S..
